Setting up AD Integration, Single Sign-On, and Email Whitelisting

Give your users a smooth login experience and reduce manual work with directory integration.

CyberPilot supports both Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Google AD for automated user syncing and Single Sign-On (SSO). This allows you too:

  • Automatically sync users to CyberPilot (AD Sync)

  • Let users log in with their existing Microsoft or Google credentials instead of using a unique CyberPilot username and password (Single Sign-On)

  • Reduce manual work, increase security and keep user access always up to date

Step 1:  Email Whitelisting

No matter how your users log in, it’s important that they receive key emails from CyberPilot. This includes course invitations, training reminders, login information, and account-related messages such as password resets and access confirmations.

To avoid issues with missing or undelivered messages, we strongly recommend whitelisting CyberPilot’s email addresses in your organization’s email system. This ensures that our emails don't get caught in spam filters or quarantined by security policies.

Step 2: Set Up AD Sync and Single Sign-On

CyberPilot supports three login methods depending on your needs:
Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Google AD, and manual login for external users.

  • Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD)
Use this method if your organization uses Microsoft 365 and you want to automatically sync users and enable Single Sign-On.

Step 3: Manual Login (for external users)

If a user isn’t part of your Microsoft or Google directory—like a contractor or board member—you can manually create an account for them with a CyberPilot username and password.

They'll log in with a CyberPilot username and password instead of SSO.

⚠️ Users created with manual login cannot later be switched to SSO.

How to Create a Manual Login User

  1. Go to Admin > Users

  2. Click Create new

  3. Fill in the user’s details (email = username)

  4. Enable the “Use manual login” toggle

  5. (Optional) Toggle “Temporary account” and set an expiration date

  6. Click Create
