Speaking up when something is wrong is not always easy. The whistleblower scheme is for situations involving serious or illegal matters, such as corruption, fraud, discrimination or breaches of legislation. It provides a safe and confidential way to report such cases so that the problems can be dealt with properly.
In this course, you will learn when and how to use the whistleblower scheme, what can be reported, and how you as a whistleblower are protected by law. The course is based on the EU Whistleblower Directive, which ensures common standards of protection across countries.
The scheme is mandatory for organisations with 50 or more employees, but all employees – including those in smaller companies – can use a national whistleblower scheme to report serious cases.
