CyberPilot’s journey from an ambitious start-up to a serious player in a competitive industry

We first entered the space of security awareness training back in 2017 because we saw a large discrepancy between the role employees play in protecting their organisations and the lack of resources dedicated to the human element of IT security.  Today, we still see this discrepancy. More than 80% of all breaches are caused by human error, but only 3% of cybersecurity budgets go to this issue.

From the start, we made it our goal to help organisations strengthen their cybersecurity by focusing on their most valuable and underrated resource – their employees. We want to help everybody make less human security errors.

Our product vision: cybersecurity solutions specifically for SMEs

CyberPilot’s long-term vision is to enable all small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to master cybersecurity.

To bring this vision to life, we are creating an all-in-one cybersecurity platform that will make great cyber security accessible to everyone.

As the cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, CyberPilot will help customers raise security awareness, achieve regulatory compliance, and simplify the work of managing IT security – altogether helping SMEs master their security and become more resilient to cyberattacks.

Bringing our vision to life with new product features and innovations

We’ve spent the last year developing our own brand-new security platform, which will serve as the foundation for our future product developments.

CyberPilot’s new security platform centralizes SME IT managers’ work

In January 2024, we officially launched our new platform for security training. Our new platform offers a new and improved user experience for all our customers, with an elevated look and feel and faster performance.

Now, in complete control of our products and how they are delivered, we are able to better provide valuable and timely solutions to our customers’ needs.

We’ve already added new features that simplify customers' work of administering security training, such as:

  • Streamlined reporting. It’s now easier to follow the progress of both awareness and phishing training. You can quickly get an overview of which users are lacking courses and which users have not completed their training
  • Upgraded scheduling. Spend less time planning and administering the training by scheduling courses and phishing campaigns months in advance
  • Automated onboarding plans. Easily create an onboarding plan of courses that new employees will automatically be enrolled to
  • Simplified user management. It’s never been easier to automatically sync users to our platform

Altogether, the new platform simplifies the work of administering training and gives all users an improved experience. It also gives us the flexibility to continuously test and develop new features in line with our customers’ needs.

Where the future will take us

While we are celebrating the launch of our platform, we haven’t taken our sights away from our future goals. We have a lot of product ideas that we can’t wait to bring to life. Some of the features we are looking forward to adding to our platform in the coming year are:

  • Automated phishing simulations that train employees at the click of a button
  • Benchmarking data so customers can easily get an overview of how their security performance compares to others with the same, e.g., industry or company size
  • Differentiated learning content making it possible to give training where it is relevant and needed
  • A cybersecurity culture co-pilot that delivers valuable insights into the human factors impacting your security and how to improve them

An all-in-one security platform

Looking further ahead, we aspire to create a complete all-in-one security platform that covers an SME’s needs for security awareness training, security processes and policies, and regulatory compliance.

Our view on the cybersecurity landscape and our customers’ challenges

The cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, but one thing remains the same – that user awareness can prevent 95% of security incidents. We’ve always focused on the human element of security, and we can now see that it’s catching on. Organisations are starting to see that technology can’t do it all.

We believe employees are an organisation’s strongest defense.

If employees are aware and use good practices, most breaches can be avoided. We give our customers the best chance of avoiding a breach.

Phishing is one of the biggest security threats.

Employees are directly responsible for correctly detecting and responding to phishing attempts. A recent report from the Danish Centre for Cyber security found that 70% of untrained users fall for spear phishing.

Cybercriminals only need to succeed once, but employees have to be right 100% of the time. We help employees be right more often.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are highly vulnerable to security breaches.

But they lack the resources available to bigger companies. Smaller businesses receive a higher rate of malicious emails, and, as many as 43% of small business owners do not have any cybersecurity defense plan at all.

Our products support SME IT security managers with innovative solutions that help them easily manage their security work. We keep ahead of the latest threats and give our customers tools to prevent them, so they can get back to what matters most.
