Introduction to the AI Act

The AI Act is the EU’s new set of rules for how artificial intelligence can be used. The goal is simple: to make sure AI is used safely and responsibly, without stopping organisations from benefiting from it.

The Act works with a risk-based approach. It doesn’t regulate AI as a technology, but looks at how it is used. There are a few particular high risks uses of AI that are restricted or banned. But for the most part it doesn't restrict uses, just requires a few precautions like transparency or human oversight.

This course explains the different risk groups and what they mean in practice. It shows what the different precautions look like and how most organisations can meet the expectations with routines they already know from other compliance areas.

The course gives all employees a simple overview of what the Act is about and how to approach AI in a safe, responsible way.
